I LOVE wine! A LOT! I am wondering how big of a hindrance this is for losing weight. Does anyone out there allow themselves to have drinks and still lose weight?

DAMN. I have been so good this last week .. well kinda. I have been going to the gym every day. BUT my food intake is a serious issue. I can not stop eating. I have NO will power at all. At school I find myself at the tuck shop - this is annoying for a few reasons, 1. I take my OWN (healthy) lunch to school, 2. I can't AFFORD to keep buying lunch and 3. I always choose something unhealthy like a sausage roll or bikkie.
Tonight I went to the supermarket for milk. I came out with the milk PLUS a bag of Griffins Mint Treat bites (new product I guess). ANYWAY, I really didn't need to buy them but I couldn't stop myself (same as a block of chocolate ended up on my receipt as well. SO I get home and with 15 mins I've eaten the WHOLE bag. I now feel sick, guilty and bloomin angry at myself.
Anyone got tips for will power?? How do I learn to say NO to myself???
Gonna make myself broke buying all this rubbish food.

I've been sticking to 1000 calories a day and after reading the pages on this site I am a bit worried that it's not enough? I don't usually get super hungry or feel like I'm starving myself.

Hi Liz/Everyone,

I have found your website most helpful and inspiring. I have a question however about the calories side of it, I understand you are meant to eat at least 1200 cals per day so you don't go into starvation etc, but I have noticed my iphone calorie tracker (my fitness pal) always adds exercise calories to the total I am meant to eat. For example, if I eat 1200 calories and then burn say 300 calories, it says that I should eat another 300 calories. This doesn't make sense to me as what is the point of exercising if you're going to eat the calories again! But I thought well maybe your body goes into starvation if your net calories (i.e. eaten less exercise) falls below 1200. Are you able to shed any light on this?

Cheers,
MJ

Just wondering, if your doctor advised you to lose weight? I was 128 kg and throughout my life as my weight went up and up and up, never ONCE did my doctor/s tell me to lose weight?! I was kinda waiting for them to, but no one ever did, even when I had a panic attack I mistook for a heart attack.

You only get 5 minutes with them I know, but I think they need to take obesity more seriously and bring it up with their patients if need be. I mean it is a serious health issue. I know people 120kg plus with high blood pressure, who have not been advised to lose weight! Simply given meds for blood pressure and test for diabetes. no diabetes, so no warnings. It seems very ambulance at the bottom of the cliff to me.

So tell me, how much do you weigh and has your doctor advised you to lose weight???
