The gym

Earlier this year, I made the decision to go back to the gym. I love the gym, but my motivation is -10. I was doing really well and averaging about 5-6 visits per week. Then I got sick. Which is usually when I stop going. I was determined that history would not repeat itself...but it has.

I am finding it really hard to get back into exercising again. I really miss the gym, but by the end of the day I can't find the motivation to go out again to the gym. It's also a bit of a pain having only one car, otherwise, I could just go straightaway.

Hmm yeah i do that, have times when im good for the gym, and times when im not into it.
I found sports good because people expect you to be there and do it so its harder to skip! Atm im doing jogging with my kids, we entered 10km auckland marathon run which also is motivating because im scared i wont be able to finish and already paid the $50 entry fee!

The hard thing for me, is that I don't play well with others so therefore the sport thing is out. My cousin tried to get me to play netball, and I was like "nope, don't think so". I love swimming and RPM though...oh and aerobics. I started posting things on Facebook about what I want to do exercisewise which you would think would keep me on track. There is a fun run/walk in October and then Taupo Bike Ride in November and then I want to walk the Milford Track in April.

Well, there is a legendary hill called french pass here, lets just say it makes grown men who cycle often cry like babies! but its excellent training for Taupo, i used to do a 40km loop every morning up it last year!

It has been proven through surveys that 90% of gym memberships start off with regular visits, then irregular, then down to virtually nothing - in other words a big waste of money! Which is something I have also achieved, one year of a wasted gym membership. I wish there was a shop that could sell motivation and/or energy.
